This has become somewhat chronic for me, and I have come to realize I am not the best employee in the world, because I tend to tell those who treat me like a slave to shove it.
Then I remember I'm about as rich as a slave, at least from , as they say in banking, "a liquidity standpoint".
My work troubles are not even interesting enough to comment on. Work sucks. They piss me off. I tell 'em to find someone else to screw. I feel better driving home, then I realize - holy shit - this is what I have to look forward to the rest of my life. Unless I win the lottery, or some scratch off lotto ticket, like "No Chance in Hell", or "I Shoulda Thrown My Money in the WInd."
So, I've been reading. I have been on a Carl Hiaasen marathon. IN the past 8 days, I have read the following:
Skiinny Dip
Strip Tease
Skin Tight
Nature Girl
Sick Puppy.
I love'em all, but Nature Girl and Sick Puppy really stand out. Hiaasen is a native Floridian, columnist for the Miami Herald, and is brilliant - FUNNY - angry, passionate and imaginative. Probably you all know that already.
I also read a book by John Dean and the brilliant Naomi Klein book, "Shock Doctrine".
That is a must read, too - but so freaking real. And depressing.
But I just love Carl Hiaasen. If you haven't read him - do yourself a favor. He is a national treasure.Have some fun.
Bye for now. Miss you!
