AP, first off, the woman is "stuck" with the baby for nine months longer than the father.  If she chooses to keep the child longer, it is her choice.  My experience is that the biggest blockage to adoption is the state agencies themselves.  By the way, of the people I know who have adopted "difficult" children, they are conservative, working class, Christians.  That may be slanted to the people I know, but it flies in the face of the silly notion that "conservatives" want to protect their right to life until they are born.  Even so, that still means they care more than those who support killing them before they are even given that chance.
