I wonder if I had put Krugman's name in the byline would youhave bothered to read the article???  Would you have put more thoughts into the information offered???
I reiterate, I READ the article.

<<The rich pay less as a percentage of income in federal taxes than I do, or probably anyone else here.>>

The rich pay more in federal taxes than you do, Stu.
I said AS A PERCENTAGE OF INCOME. I am not the one being selective here, you are.
However, that isn't enough to make you happy.  You seem to think that the only way for the tax code to be fair is if they pay more than you.
True. I think the rich can, should and DO pay more than me - at least the ones who pay any taxes at all. I mean Bill Gates could pay 1/2 of 1% of his income in tax, and it would still be more than me. Again, I am talking about HIGHER PERCENTAGE than me. Right now, the rich pay a higher percentage than me (supposedly) on a portion of their income - and a much lower percentage than me on another huge portion of their income - passive income.
In fact, it seems that the most fair would be if they paid into taxes until they had the same thingto live on as you do.  I guess I understand that thinking, but I don't agree with it.
You may understand "that thinking", but you clearly are not interested in understanding my thinking, or even what I said.
My guess is that most everyone in here makes more money than I do.  Lucky for me, I don't base my happiness and pride on how much money other people have or make.
Neither do I and screw you for implying I do. With a big rubber dick.

I suppose it is easier to succeed or feel successful if somebody hobbles the rest of the field.
Well, that was an interesting "dialogue". With yourself.
