I have consistently pushed for nuclear power as part of the mix, but I must admit that I am deeply troubled by the waste-storage issue. I am beginning to think that it is irresponsible to build MORE of these without first addressing that issue in a truly safe and secure manner.

Greg,

I'm with you in every way.

I would only ask your opinion on one conundrum that I have:

Existing waste = x tons
Existing problem = y problem

If we create enough new plants to eventually triple the amount of waste, is the problem really now y times 3? It seems to me that it is really almost the same, exact problem.

If my thinking is correct shouldn't we go ahead - due to the global warming "worst case" - while trying to solve the waste problem?

Also, don't the newest reactors reuse/recycle the fuel until it is much less dangerous.
