Everyone "knows" that the entire Ross Ice Shelf will not collapse in a season, nor that Greenland's ice cap melt off into the sea under a supervolcano in a matter of days ... let alone have BOTH happen in a single year. Yet nature is chaos, and either of these would cause a rise of FEET, not inches, and in a very short time. The loss of 20-25% of habitable land would be quite sufficient to cause catastrophic failure of human systems worldwide.
