How many years would they have to be off the mark to look stupid?

Five years? Ten years?

If it takes  five more  years from their prediction to come true.... are they still stupid?
The point is, not only was this prediction wrong on size, it was wrong on direction.

People aren't being forced out of these areas, these areas are growing in population.

Global warming is a problem, no matter what the cause. Making dire predictions not based on scientific evidence only makes it more difficult to convince the powers that be to plan for remedial actions that will eventually be needed.

As far as five more years? If they were so massively wrong with this prediction, why would anyone think they have it right if we add five more years?
