Aw, Fancy, I will miss you weekly shots aimed at President Reagan.

Well, Ted didn't betray the country, only his wife and kids.

I don't think the parents of Mary Jo Kopeckne would agree.  Actually, Ted Kennedy was a soft on the Soviet Union as his father (Joe Kennedy) was on Hitler.  In 1984 he made some very sensitive overtures many would consider a betrayal of the United States:

" Forbes Magazine reports uncontroverted evidence that Senator Kennedy offered assistance to the Kremlin in dealing with President Reagan
in exchange for the Soviets lending the Democratic Party a hand in the 1984 Presidential election.  Kennedy found President Reagan’s rhetoric towards the Soviet Union disturbing.  Reagan’s frequent reference to the U.S.S.R as the “evil empire” that it was, ruffled his feathers, as Kennedy didn’t really think the communist state all that bad.  In fact, Kennedy was willing to set up interviews for then General Secretary Y. Andropov with leading American news sources and he ensured favorable coverage.  Kennedy also suggested a meeting between him and Andropov in Moscow, where Kennedy and Soviet officials would discuss nuclear disarmament.  A meeting that would no doubt assist Kennedy’s efforts to run for President in the future and give him foreign affairs bona fides.  The irony was that Andropov died shortly after Kennedy wrote his memo to the Russian, and Reagan went on to crush the evil empire, finishing the job that Ted’s brother had help start nearly thirty years earlier."

To talk about the Iran/Contra scandle you have to talk about who was president at the time.

Well, yes---and it ought to be in a thread not titled "Casey Anthony To Get a Job On Fox News."  It's also amazing how much eagerness there is to investigate Reagan---but almost non to investigate a sitting President for his many questionable decisions.  Investigators, for example, are getting little cooperation while asking for documentation from the Obama administration and DOJ regarding the current ATF gunrunning scandal.  I would guess Obama is finding out being President isn't all about playing golf, flying around in Air Force One, hosting McCartney concerts at the White House and dining on $400 per bottle wine and $100 per pound Wagyu beef.
