Very helpful in naturalizing a group of people who had been wrongly denied citizenship by the original colonies when the Constitution was written. Not intended to allow illegal aliens to come here and then have their children "Born American" even though they have no intentions of ever acquiring citizenship for themselves.  Not intended to circumvent the right of the US to have strong borders, at all.  Funny this author failed to mention the original intent.........Jra

If this was not intended, then how many of us are illegal?  How many of our grandparents came into this Country via birth to an illegal?  So now do we go back, research every family and throw out everyone who was born her, was a citizen via that birth, and now throw them out too?

What an assanine arguement.
