John, as much as the "hidden spending" wasn't in the budgets it showed up in the annual deficits and certainly in the debt level.  Are you doubting the fact that the debt has risen exponentially more in the past 2-3 years?  In fact, I can remember people in here complaining about Bush proposing $300 billion deficits.  Now we are looking at $1.5 trillion and panicking about "maybe" dropping the increase in that amount to only 6% annually.

That is the sad thing about this whole fabricated crisis.  Neither side is actually talking about real decreases in the federal budget.  Instead we are talking about decreasing the 7% annual increase by small amounts.  Gov't spending will still grow.  Raise taxes and gov't will grow.  Cut spending and gov't will still grow.
