my brother, bless his heart, was what they call a booster. He would make "deals" with small time gangsters and get high priced suits and other apparell and then sell them on the street and sometimes he would steal the merchandise himself. Its nothing to be proud of for sure but he was well known here as one of the best boosters. In any event he always said that all you had to do was walk into any store and act confident, act like you knew exactly where you were going and what you were doing. He walked out of a large chain grocery store here with a huge meat slicer. no one asked him a single question. he has long since passed but he was a character in the true sense of the word. Oh the stories he could tell.

I am getting bits and pieces of my family but I wish I knew more.  I found out that my older brother by my Mother and her First Husband was a Marine and faught in Korea.  The Problem was his temper that ended up getting him killed in 58 outside a hotel bar in Arkansas over a woman who wasn't his wife.  I tracked down the newspapers which said he worked on a Mississippi Barge.   I doubt I will ever find the child his wife was carrying when he was killed.
