Paul Ryan's ideas for Medicare are pretty good, IMHO.

Our government cannot afford to fund the current Medicare program as it is currently configured and the only choices are to change it or tax our kids and grandkids a bunch more to keep it going the way it is going.

Social Security is a bigger but less immediate problem. I think it is going to end up being means tested and only those who truly need it will be receiving it. I really hate this solution, it punishes people who have done without and saved all their lives, but I honestly don't see a solution where good people don't get screwed.
