<< The Police would not have approached this boy.>>

You know this, how???

The evidence being released now, including 911 calls say that Zimmerman was returning to his vehicle when Martin jumped him, from behind, knocked him to the ground, broke his nose and was on top of him when the shot was fired.

Zimmerman may have had no reason to follow this young man (I would agree with this), but Martin had no reason to attack him, either.  Zimmerman had every reason to fear for his life and every right to defend himself.

If, instead, Zimmerman had punched Martin and knocked him to the ground and was hitting him, I would say that Martin had every right to shoot him.

This looks to be a series of unfortunate misunderstandings and actions that lead to a horrible outcome.

As to the racist thing, Zimmerman friend Mr. Oliver (who happens to be black) thinks that is outrageous.  The black kids he has mentored might agree.

I think this is an unfortunate series of events that should make people think more about how they behave and engage other people.  This does not mean I think that people should have to cower and run and hide and wait for police to come to their rescue.  This should be carefully investigated without the pressure of political and activists hacks passing judgment without all of the facts.  That is the greatest injustice in this case.
