John - did you hear that long piece on NPR this weekend analyzing the cases in Florida where judges have thrown out cases because of SYG? It was pretty depressing. Two motorists in a long high-speed chase with each other, and the pursuer finally caught up with and shot the other driver ... and the judge found that he was "standing his ground"! A dozen insane examples. As applied, this law is crazy ... unless we are TRYING to return to Dodge City, Kansas ca. 1870. I suppose we should set aside a Boot Hill in each town now.

By the end of the story, it was clear that to many of these right-wing judges, the survivor is automatically judged the victor ... and might makes right.
