There is validity to this point. It is a civil rights issue and Obama should be leading the charge to implement rather than pontificate on his personal beliefs. Personal beliefs aside, how do we get equality for the LBGT community if all our leaders do is blather on about their personal beliefs? You either believe that all are created equal or you don't. If you do then let's get some changes implemented on the federal, state and local level.
I disagree with the conservative New York Post. I think President Obama really believes same-sex marriage is okay and if any of his actions have been "cynical" regarding this subject, it was his previous position, not his current one.

I also think President Obama believes the federal government is the best way to solve every problem, but that is a whole other conversation.
