it's rather amazing that a 'Christian Nation', a majority religion being 'Christian' and a political party that equates itself with being 'Christian' while vilifying and demonizing the 'liberals' for not being Christians would act so fantastically NOT Christian.
maybe that is the reason we should not be bringing religion into politics...it seems everyone wants to codify their particular view of religion...

of course it's just but one reason not to intermix religion and politics...

but, the republicans have let the genie out of the bottle and have been pontificating themselves as the only Christians in this nation... so, if they want to make that claim, they should abide by the principles and teachings of that holy book they so proudly use to beat the rest of the liberal heathens over the head with.

It all goes back to hypocrisy... and the republicans have made it an artform.

Should one claim to be a Christian and claim that the Bible is their light and salvation and should be taken absolutely literally, then they should practice the teachings in that book... some of which include how a Christian should take care of the least unfortunate among them.

But, as usual, they do not... and the people that subscribe to their political philosophy aren't smart enough to even understand it.... that's what you get when you have a flock of sheep rather than people who can actually think for themselves.
