<<I am simply stating that conservatives use religion as a political tool but do not practice it's teachings.>>

Well, now isn't that interesting, overly simplistic, yet interesting.

Three weeks ago I was made aware of an elderly woman who was in desperate need of a new roof. She lives on a limited budget, but because she owns her house no gov't program would help her. HUD was informed, but mostly uninterested and told her she should sell her house and move into a smaller one, SS told her that she owned her home and it's value put her over the wealth statute that they use to judge "need".

I made a few calls, obtained the materials and with the help of a few friends she has a new roof. I have since recieved a phone call from HUD, SS and the local township letting me know that I need to document the work done, materials used and time taken to do the work. From what I understand, the permit was issued assuming a "contractor" would be used and a local "contractor" drove by and saw the roof done and raised a stink. This is a guy who normally gets local HUD jobs and repair work referred from SS. I have been told that I need to show a certificate of insurance, a DBA and a taxpayer ID for the "unpaid payroll taxes".

Ya gotta love gov't charity.
