My husband refuses to vote, as far as he is concerned it's a futile excercise, as no matter who wins the election everything is the same. He thinks it's about the politicians and believes they care nothing for people or the country. The new boss is the same as the old boss. Someday's I think he is correct.
I'm guessing no one here is going to take the mister to task for saying they are all the same.

What I have said is, no matter which party wins the election, one thing I know for sure is the federal government will get larger and more powerful, i.e. nothing changes.

I agree with your husband's reasoning, but not his conclusion. If he doesn't vote, he loses his voice in our experiment in self governance. He should either find a third party whose platform comes close to his beliefs or write in a cartoon character's name.

It is important he lets the gruesome twosome that the candidates and platforms they foist on us are not acceptable.
