I think everyone is feeling the crunch rather than the pinch in many ways. I see prices go up each week here. Every time I'm in the store, I see our elderly folks trying to stretch those pennies and dollars for food. Not a good sight. I see families stressed beyond capacity, trying to afford food, housing, clothing, etc and then provide a holiday for their family. What the hell has become of this country? We're supposed to be the 'beacon' to the world.....the light that everyone looks to.....really? I can't see it. That light dimmed years ago. But, in all, we still have a good country here IF we can wrangle it from the grips of the assholes in Washington. How to do that? I have no idea...but if anyone has an idea, let me know....

Gas jumped to well over $3.00 a gallon here. My property taxes went up this year....can't wait for next year when the nitwits find we've built a new storage building. They'll tax the hell out of us then. Groceries.....oh don't even get me started on that one. Somethings have stayed around normal....milk...not too bad here. Bread still reasonable....however, meat is expensive. Veggies too. Of course, I'll give a little on the veggies...as they go up in price every fall and winter. Cat food jumped $2.00 in one week.

But in all, I'll admit that Hubby and I have been luckier than most. We still have our home......many people in my area are facing foreclosure on their homes. We still have our vehicles......some have lost theirs because they can't afford the payments AND gas. I don't know how people are making it. I really don't. And of course the government doesn't give a damn. They'd rather spend OUR tax dollars on THEIR pursuit of power. We're living the 1980's all over again.........
