We could take each of these questions and discuss forever! I also would appreciated a civil discussion and not
a thread that is headed for the "Itchy and Scratchy" Room.

So are all religions connected? Does all our different religions stem from one particular religion? If so, which one?

Of the 3 big boys.... Judaism was the first and Christianity and Islam followed in that order.
But all of them have roots and take a lot from even earlier religions or philosophies.
Druids, Zoroastians (sp?) amongst many others. Islam even derives a lot of their core beliefs from the Greeks Aristotle and Plato specifically.
Religion goes as far back as man's cultural history.

Who actually wrote the "Old Testament"? The Jews? The Muslims? Christians weren't exactly in place at that time....no offense to Christians.

How much of the Holy Bible is correct? Is it literal?
How much of the Holy Qur`an is correct? Is it literal?

Were the parables of Jesus literal or merely examples? How much of each were examples?

Was Mohammed the last prophet?
Why is Mohammed held higher above other prophets?

A) on the Old Testament Jah is correct IMO.
B) Some consider the 'holy books' literal', many scholars do not.
Lots of interpertation is done for both the Bible and the Koran.
Personally I believe both are verbal stories handed down through time and thus
subject to a LOT error. They were both written down long after the death of their respective
prophets and there were decades of politics and struggle for power and control by many different groups.
What we have left is what the 'winner' of those battles wanted us to see and hear.
IMO a LOT was censored and deleted.

C) The parables as the name implies...are stories or examples.
"usually short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle"

D) The last two have different answers from different beliefs.
Muslims are probably the only ones who consider Muhammad as the last or greatest of prohpets.
I don't think Christians or Jews even acknowledge his being a prophet.

Where did atheism come from? (not sure on the spelling there)
Does satanic worship make the person bad?

Atheism comes from the same place as religion. MAN.
Literally speaking religion is an organized community belief in a specific set of dogma. ie man made.
God or spirituality are not necessarily 'religous'. Not sure I phrased that too well, but my opinion is that
Church or religion is a mand made institution and has actually very little to do with GOD or ALLAH or spirituality.

So NO the person is either 'bad' or 'not'. The use or abuse of any formal belief is abhorrent, and I would say Oral Roberts
or Jerry Falwell are no better in that respect than people who people who worship satan or practice voodo with
negative or evil intent.

It is the intent and not the worship that is the determining factor.
