It was NOT a political speech, it was a prayer ... offered before a reeling nation the day after Pearl Harbor. Bush could have made the exact same prayer before the nation on 9/12/01 and NO ONE would had said a thing about it.
first... it was not after pearl harbor
This is the prayer originally entitled "Let Our Hearts Be Stout" written by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as Allied troops were invading German-occupied Europe during World War II. The prayer was read to the nation on radio on the evening of D-Day, June 6, 1944, while American, British and Canadian troops were fighting to establish beach heads on the coast of Normandy in France.

context is everything...if bush said this at the begining of the surge do you think people in here would be quiet?

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Elohim for Yahushua the Messiah's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32
