Book of John. In John 5:21, Jesus says "For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it."
Actually, this can be interpreted literally or one can interpret it as:

Yes, God is life. From God comes life as He alone is the Creator.

Jesus gave life through teaching the way back to God.

He said he was the way and no ther way to God.

John 14:6 (King James Version)

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He reiterates this again in John 10:17-18, "The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again." So Jesus claims the authority over both life and death.
Jesus has the power to give up a good life and to receive it again through forgiveness. Just as all sinners can do.

Jesus was talking about His impending death...He had nothing to forgiven of...He who knew no sin became sin for us...according to the Bible the only way we can have forgiveness is through the sacrificial blood of Jesus

Jesus told the woman at the well "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John. 4:13-14). He also told a large crowd "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40). Here Jesus is telling the crowd that their eternal destiny is in His hands. Notice here that Jesus did not say "My Father will raise him up," instead He says I will raise him up.

Through his teachings.

Ok, I think I have made my point. However, I do have 1 question:

IF Jesus was actually God in the flesh.....then when he was killed, why did he not resurrect himself for all to see so that it would be proven once and for all that he was truly God?

who is all? he was up and about for forty days?

Acts 1:3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

all the apostles except john died horrible deaths for preaching the resurrection of Jesus. Would they have done that if they knew it was not true?

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Elohim for Yahushua the Messiah's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32
