I think that NO other administration - Republican or Democrat - would ever again make the same mistakes of being out of touch, of "not realizing" the crisis even while it plays out on the national news night after night. That was, in a sense, a perfect storm of bad PR. I do not expect to see that particular mistake repeated for decades - it is a textbook example of mishandling a crisis ESPECIALLY in the media. The government civil servants may well have been doing just as well in moving supplies and setting up aid-processing stations, but the spokespeople were not in the loop, and it looked horrible.
