Again, it is according to one's interpretation. To me, it simply reads that through Jesus (his teaching) is the way to God. Not that he was God or some supernatural being. Just that Jesus taught the truth
Jesus said:
John 14:7

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 14

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Exodus 3:14
14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Jesus was calling Himself God by saying "Before Abraham was, I am." I Am is one of the designations of God the Father.

John 8

18 I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me."

19Then they asked him, "Where is your father?" "You do not know me or my Father," Jesus replied. "If you knew me, you would know my Father also."

The Religious leaders of the time understood clearly that He was making Himself equal to God.

If he did not know sin, how can he become sin?
Jesus the perfect God man who knew no sin bore the sins of the world in His body as the perfect sacrifice. All of us our sinners. We can not merit God's forgiveness by our own works. God is Holy and just. Our righteousness is like filthy rags before Him. It is only by His grace and mercy through the atoning blood of Christ that we can have forgiveness.

2 Corinthians 5:21

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Hebrews 9: 22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Matthew 26

28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Ephesians 1:7
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

who are them?
the Apostles were those that we Jesus closest followers and disciples. They knew Him better than anyone. When He raised from the dead He spent 40 days with them. The central message that got them all killed was the Forgiveness of sin though faith in the blood of the Risen Christ. If the resurrection were a fable those guys must have been having a mass hallucination.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as Elohim for Yahushua the Messiah's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32
