Whonew, a vast majority of people, given 10 times their current income would still have little if any capital gains.   Then when they do have capital gains the gov't grants them a loophole to get out of it.

Capital gains is a tax I have followed for some time, now.  The interesting thing is that Republicans offered to raise it to regular tax level as long as inflation was factored into the valuation.  That way it would encourage longterm "true" capital gains instead quick sale stock gains, but the Dems refused to even consider making it fair.  Capital gains rates is another "dog whistle" for tax the rich except some very not rich people get swept up with it.  I have gotten to pay capital gains taxes almost every year with a total household income of under $50k.  So, please do tell me how only the rich pay capital gains.
