"none of you know or understand Islam or Christianity.
what trash!" TJ

You have a choice TJ. You can read what was posted, and assume point/s of view that differ from your own are arrived at for sensible reason, and that the difference in conclusion is based upon a difference in knowledge.

Or you can simply assume all the others are ignorant, & posting "trash".

Rather than my attempting to debate truth with you TJ, I'll extend to you the gift of enlightenment, a gift of truth; two direct quotations from scripture.
With that gift, you may do as you wish. ("You can lead a horse to water ...")
"... slay the infidels wherever ye find them..." Qur'an: Sura 9 Verse 5

It's worth noting here that among Muslims, not only can atheists and agnostics, and even Christians be regarded as "infidels". Sunni can regard Shi'ah as infidels, and Shi'ah can regard Sunni as infidels too.

But we've read the Bible, right. So we know the Bible is better than that, right? Not so slow.
"But thou shalt surely kill him [that advocates we serve other gods]; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." Deuteronomy 13:9

And at the hand of zealots brandishing and wielding their divine imprimatur as an irrefutable absolute divine justification, carnage has been committed in the name of Jesus, Mohammed, Jehovah, and Allah.
"ALL Muslims are so ready to kill anyone who crosses their path......." Rosey

Rosey,
You know I admire you for so many things, among them your patience.
I don't think all Muslims are bloodthirsty savages.
But I think some of them have proved themselves to be. Mohammad Atta, and his merry band of murderous skyjacking thugs comes to mind.

During one of the last major riots that I can think of in the U.S., the riot that erupted after the Rodney King beating trial verdict was announced, there was destruction, and though I don't recall precisely, possibly, carnage.
The rioters were too numerous to count.
But there were also countless others that condemned that rioting.
Where are the protesters against the insensible violence in Islam? Carnage over a cartoon?

Please correct me / enlighten me if I am wrong Rosey / anyone:
It seems to me there are very few plausible explanations for this. Among what seems to me the most likely:

- Either Muslims are so immoral or amoral that they sincerely don't object to such violence and carnage. Or

- Most Muslims are sensible persons whose religious beliefs may differ from our own, but their underlying sensibilities about destruction and carnage are much like ours. BUT: because of the rabid treachery of the few deranged radicals among them, those few violent radicals of Islam are the tail that wags the dog; the sensible majority are simply cowed into silence, by expressed or implied threats from the violent fanatics.

I don't know which of these two explains it. My innate desire to retain my faith in humanity presses me to prefer the latter explanation. But politically, it's hardly reassuring.

I'm not an historian. But I'm aware of the Spanish Inquisition. I'm not asserting either Christendom or Islam is free of dark marks in their overlapping histories.
But in my opinion, (perhaps for reasons such as Reformation, an enlightenment Christendom has undergone, and it seems to me Islam has not) Christianity is not the violent threat to the West that Islam currently is.
I am neither Muslim nor Christian; I'm agnostic. Agnosticism is not an expression of belief, or disbelief. It is simply a confession of ignorance.
"Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you so much for trying to educate people regarding god's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.
When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:12 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
But I need some advice from you, regarding some of the other specific laws and how best to follow them.
When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the lord (Leviticus 1:9), the problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery as suggested by Exodus 21:7. What do you think a fair price would be? I know I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Leviticus 19:24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking. But some women take offense. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I obliged morally to kill him myself, or may I hire a hit-man?
I know you have studied these things extensively, and so I am confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that god's word is eternal, & unchanging."

Please TJ & Rosey:
When you encounter opinion that differs from your own; please do not reflexively dismiss it as "trash".
Sometimes others, even others that may not share your world-view, have sensible, logical reason for their own opinion.

My opinion of Islam is significantly influence by news of the past half decade. There is blood flowing in the streets in Islam.
What a terrible catastrophe that this needless, insensible carnage is not "trash"!
