AP, the point of the matter is that even though fat contains 6.25 times more energy per gram, it takes longer for that to be digested and to enter the bloodstream.  It also satiates your hunger so you don't feel hungry and hour later.  That is the real difference between fat energy and simple sugar/carb energy.  Unless you vigorously exercise right after eating those sugars and carbs it will not change the blood sugar spike that occurs.
