Barb, my body does what yours does. Eat fruit = cholesterol. Eat vegetables = cholesterol. I take a total of 2 cholesterol pills a day and hate it. I eat very few fried anything and we use olive oil and/or Canola oil for what little we try. I refuse to stop eating bacon a couple times a week but I found that doing it in the microwave tucked between layers of paper towels I can eat it just fine. The towels soak up the grease and the back gets crispy and taste good actually.

I read someplace that they think that the numbers they have been using for what the cholesterol should be are wrong. I hope so. We have one life to live and I will be damned if I will live the rest of mine not eating foods I like at least once in awhile.
