First of all, they are doing this and not reporting the findings to the parent OR the child. Second, these test only give one factor involved in obesity in children. There other factors that are not even considered by the district because they do NOT have access nor do they need access to that information. Third, schools should always have been aware that children need exercise and/or PE and recess for the younger kids and a good, balanced lunch, continued health classes to teach proper nutrition. I see absolutely no reason for the schools to do these test as they are incomplete. I object to them gathering personal data from the children without the parents written consent and if that consent is given then the parents should get the report back so they can discuss the issue with their Physician.

Now, no matter how good a school lunch is, kids will eat what they like of it. This data mining isn't going to change that. Someone please tell me what the district can do with this data to change this situation that they shouldn't have been doing all along.
