Who is charge of this? Who set the schedule? Who decided to have Rice say that Bergdahl seved "with honor and distinction" when clearly it was possible to know that wasn't true? Who put POTUS in the Rose Garden with the parents, when this could ahve easily be shoved off onto the Pentagon and the Army? Why didn't they realize that Bergdahl is going to have to face a court martial?

This is just rank amatuerism, an entirely unforced error.
The timing is suspicious. I wonder if the White House believed this would change the lead story from the VA problems to bringing a soldier home? If so, it worked, but not exactly in a good way.
