By the way, I not only read the history books on the Revolutionary war,the Battle of Saratoga was fought a mere 5 miles from my farm.  In fact, my farm was originally a land grant from General Peter Gansevoort to one of his Lieutenants, (Palmer was his name) and it was given as his "pay" and reward for taking part in the defeat of General Burgoyne.  Many towns, roads and places around here have names that go back to that period.

Our house was Palmer's gift to his daughter on her wedding and her husband worked the farm with Mr Palmer.

I love reading that type of history.
