Let's not get ahead of the facts. The court hearing, hearings, are all preliminary.  Nothing has been proven, one way or the other, in a court of law.

That's true.  There is a finding by the IRS Inspector General that wrongdoing occurred, however, and the IRS has been delaying any court inquiry into the matter, which is a problem.  It's unfortunate that it's been allowed to go on this long without the judge at least threatening contempt for the foot-dragging.

Agreed on all points. This is aggregious, I think the Tea Party is full of shit, but that shouldn't subject them to gov't malfeasance. I don't care if Obama knew or did not know, I don't care if the last 20 Presidents allowed targeting of their enemies by the IRS, it's just plain wrong. Period. Wrong and as adults/voters we should be expecting better, not excusing because someone else may have gotten away with it. It's that attitude that has our political system corrupted.

We'll have to wait and see what the hearings produce. I have no doubt other people and / or groups were targeted also, but I believe a large amount of Tea Partiers were to notice a pattern and that is what set this all in motion.
