"I thought we had an honest candidate" ap

We may.
I was opposed to expanding our off-shore drilling, when oil was $9.oo / barrel.
It reached $144.oo / barrel today, according to NBC-TV News (though it is reported to have closed below that level).
I support off-shore drilling now, provided certain safeguards are in place.

But mine is an honest change in position.
Is it a flip-flop?
Sure! That's exactly what it is.
At $9.oo a barrel, and gasoline @~$1.50 / gallon, there's no reason drill out there.
But at these prices, it's a different story.

But let's not make any commitments about who we're going to vote for this November, until we hear the stump speeches from each of the candidates.
I've despised Bob Barr for many years.
But he seems to have been doing some serious flip-flopping too.
And I want to know his platform before I decide who I'll vote for.

Don't get too jazzed here. Bush still has hundreds of days left in his administration. It ain't over yet.

One step at a time ...
