The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Slash is that he is a hard edge
rocker. You know, the Guns N'Roses guy with the wild hair, huge top hat, lots of bling,
five tattoos, nose and belly rings, and hilarious t-shirts - when he bothers to wear a shirt.
It can be entertaining just to look at him! But, what matters is the music. No matter
what album he's making or what club he's playing, SLASH ROCKS HARD! Well, not all
of the time. He's much deeper then that. Not surprising, coming from such talented
stock. SLASH was born in Hampstead, England on July 23, 1965. He was raised in
Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England. His given name is Saul Hudson. His mother
is an African American, and his father is a caucasian Englishman. Both parents are
artistic and work in the entertainment field. His mother is a clothing designer for
entertainers. She is responsible for designing some of David Bowie's unforgettable
costumes. His father provides art direction for record albums. Two of his notable clients
are Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Slash is most famous for his work on the Guns N'Roses
albums. However, he has done a great deal of work on his own. Some involves guest
appearances for other artist's or the remix of a single. Slash is often invited to do these
guest shots. And that brings me to one of his more surprising compositions,
'Obsession Confession.' This recording demonstrates a more mellow side of this
great talent. This track has actually done very well in the Smooth Jazz genre.

So chill out and smooth down with the softer side of Slash!
