Prices for homes today is outrageous. If these were well built homes, with quality materials used it might be work a portion of the asking price. They are thrown up shacks with low grade materials yet the builders want premium dollar. Foundations are poured without being allowed go cure and many times lower grade cement is used other than what is actually needed (cracks in foundations anyone). Walls go up and materials are often full of knotholes and crooked. How long since you put a level on your walls to determine whether they are even straight? Tried installing wall paper lately only to find that a straight sheet of paper must be trimmed in order to not have the wall look as crooked as it is?

I am in an arguement with the appraisial board right now because they decided my TH increased $12000 in the last year. This isn't because it actually increased in value but because they built an overpriced new subdivision not 6 blocks from me. It is ridiculous.
