No I havent read about Whole Foods or Safeway ...what they are doing pertaining to health care costs.
We don't even have those stores in my small town in NYS.

Rather than waste bandwidth, I posted what these companies are doing over on the Should Health Insurance AND other forms of insurance be non-profit? thread. It is in post #19.

I do know one reason health care costs have risen is because we have become a Fast Food Nation ...
and too many of us are hugely overweight...which brings on a multitude of health issues for such a person.
This is exactly one of the things Safeway is doing. Encouraging employees to live healthier.

Other reasons I know are significant can be summed up in one word ...affecting the big people who sit
at the top of these companies..GREED.
Not even close. Most of the problems with skyrocketing health care costs are the result of folks being passive receipients and bad consumers of health care.

Both Whole Foods and Safeway are doing things to stop both of these and the results are controlled health care spending and healthier employees.
