Ok...you guys know that I sincerely love you all...right?

so.....

QUIT FUCKING SAYING THAT NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE!!!!!! The more you promote that thought, the more entrenched it becomes. Seriously! STOP FUCKING SAYING THAT AND FUCKING GET BUSY!!!

SICKO will eventually come out on DVD. When that happens, BUY IT! Get friends and relatives to watch it! If necessary, copy it! Just get it the hell OU THERE!

Also, if it it playing anywhere near you right now, GET OUT THERE TO WATCH IT! Even if it is for the second or third time. Keep it in theatres for as long as possible!

AND TAKE PEOPLE WITH YOU! PAY FOR THEIR TICKETS IF NECESSARY!

THEN, talk to people after the movie ends! Help them understand that they really can change "the system" if they get off their arses and FUCKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Call their congress people! Call their state representatives. Call friends. Call family. Call someone and get this ball fucking rolling!

I watched SICKO for the second time yesterday. Still loved it. And no, it's not really a documentary (even though it "documents" the state of health care in the US (or lack thereof) vs the state of healthcare in other "first world" countries). It is a dissertation, an invitation, a lesson, a prayer to the American people.

Yesterday, at the end of the movie, I heard one man say "Are we really that bad?" I walked up to him, held his hands and told him that "No, it's not YOU or even the American people in general who are that bad. It is YOUR government that YOU have allowed to get out of control. YOU can change it." Then we (he had several friends with him) talked for about half an hour about what can be done to change this sorry state of affairs. (It helped when I mentioned that I am a Canadian who has lived in the U.S. for many years) Every one of them was fired up to DO SOMETHING! I gave them all my cards and promised to help point them in the directions of people they can band with and organise with to DO SOMETHING! (I've already gotten 3 emails today)

Seriously, my dear friends...stop with the wet blanket attitudes! THAT is being part of the problem. THAT is what beats others down and stops so many well intentioned people from ever getting active. Don't do that to yourselves or anyone else ever again. Even if you don't feel it, keep saying positive things about changing the system. SAY IT TILL YOU BELIEVE IT! ACT ON IT TILL IT HAPPENS!

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem

Love and hugs,
Merri
