No. See, their likes and dislikes are immaterial. They're not the President.
And their Constitutional charge is NOT to advise & deny. Their explicit, enumerated Constitutional duty is: "Advice and Consent".
Uh, no.  This is why the Senate needs to VOTE on whether to confirm a Justice or to NOT.  The President needs to get consent from enough Senators.  If he, and his nominee, DON'T... then they have effectively DENIED that consent.
