But do you think the Founders intended, or the Constitutional wording means that if a Senator doesn't think the otherwise fully qualified candidate is pretty enough, or if her purse doesn't match her belt, that Senator should reject that nominee?" sear

a) Then you're uninformed.
b) Define "Worst".

I've been using this skillful technique known even to the ancients; and I've been using it since I was on the debate team as a teenager, back in the1960's.
The technique is known as "reductio ad absurdum".
reductio ad absurdum (r -d k t -o  d eb-s r dem, -z r -, -sh -o) noun plural reductiones ad absurdum (-o n z, -n s) Disproof of a proposition by showing the absurdity of its inevitable conclusion.

So by "Worst Debate Tactic Ever" Treb what you mean is, a simple process of irrefutable logic:

 - understanding a concept
 - defining the parameters of the concept
 - cite the consequences of applying the concept

and that's what passes for the  "Worst Debate Tactic Ever" Treb in your mind?

It's difficult to imagine what you'd think of a genuinely poor debate tactic then Treb.
"Nope.  And that's why I think, along with not a few others, that all this NOMINATION and CONFIRMATION business should be done away with, and have Federal Judges and Supreme Court Justices be ELECTED to their positions.  And not FOR LIFE, either.

But hey, what the hell... that would take a Constitutional Amendment too, wouldn't it?" Treb

Dandy.
So rather than obey the law, you think we should just disregard the law, because Trebissky thinks he's got an idea that's better than the Constitution of the United States of America?
"They don't have to GIVE a reason why they vote yea or nay.  All they have to do is VOTE." Treb

And you state the obvious in meager hope that it will make you appear wise? Better informed than ...?

It may fool yourself Treb. I doubt anyone else is falling for it.
