At a new gun range in Oklahoma City, patrons can empty their weapons and drain their bar glass.
Despite dissension in their own ranks, the city council voted this week to give a liquor license to Wilshire Gun Range, a massive indoor shooting establishment under construction in the state capital.
Owner Jeff Swanson promises that customers won’t be allowed to imbibe until they’ve finished target practice for the day.
“Guns and alcohol will never mix at Wilshire Gun,” Swanson told KFOR-TV. “We have an absolute zero-tolerance policy.”
City leaders voted 6 to 3 to approve the license, over the objections of some colleagues.
“Alcohol is legal and guns are legal. I have a problem with mixing the two,” council member Larry McAtee told the station.
